Tom Sherman, or Mr. T, as the children call him, is the Director of the Early Childhood Center for Immanuel Lutheran Preschool. A native of Charleston, Mr. T has been an educator for over 35 years. He and his wife, Diane, live in the country where they have been involved in 4H activities for over 10 years, raising cats, dogs, goats, and sheep. Mr. T also serves as a Committee Lay Pastor and preaches at area churches from time to time. He loves sports, working outside, and spending time with his family.

Mr. T graduated from Charleston High School and has received three degrees from EIU. He has been a teacher in western Illinois, Arcola, and Charleston. In addition, he was Principal at Lewistown High School, and serves as Elementary Principal, High School Principal, and Superintendent at various times in Palestine, Illinois. Most recently, Tom was the Assistant Superintendent for Business for the Mattoon School District for 16 years.

His passion is serving Jesus Christ; and what better way to do that than by being able to help children learn and grow on a daily basis, especially in a Christian environment.
